What is SATAS?

Integrated SMS system that updates parents on attendance and sends alerts in real time when students get on or off their bus

How does it work?

The badges, called Smart Tags, use Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to identify when the students get on and off their school bus and where they are located on their campus for safety purposes and attendance reporting. As each student enters the school gate, the RFID reader reads his or her tag and sends that child's identification data to the main server. The server then automatically sends an SMS text message to the mobile phone of that student's designated parent, stating that his or her child has entered the building at that particular time. When the child leaves school, the system should again send an SMS message notifying the parent that the student has departed, along with the specific time.

Same system is integrated with the bus monitoring devices for boarding and disembarking the bus.
